Jelly sandals were created in France in the 40's, long before the jelly shoe trends of the 80's and 90's. These coloured plastic shoes have been summer footwear favourites for over 65 years. Sun Jellies is bringing the original French jelly sandals to your shores. If you always wished you'd had a pair of jellies, now you can have a pair of the original jelly sandals.
French Heritage.
In 1946 post WWII the first ever jelly shoes were created by a Frenchman in response to a worldwide leather shortage. The French nicknamed them Méduse, meaning jellyfish. The iconic 'fisherman' style is instantly recognisable and has become famous throughout the world. An eternal symbol of summer, loved by kids and adults for generations. Our original French jellies are a retro classic, much imitated but never bettered.
