Pixie Cares

At Pixie, we understand the importance of being socially responsible. We have spent time and money ensuring the integration of responsible entrepreneurship into practice.

We have developed a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that will take some time to implement in its entirety. We are however, confident that we have taken the important first steps to ensuring we become a responsible retailer that others aspire to.

Our ethical statement has been divided into 5 elements, all of which are equally important to us.

Pixie Cares about Children

At Pixie, we believe that clothes should be made ‘for’ children and not ‘by’ children.
We have a play area in the store to amuse children whilst Grown-Ups are browsing. We frequently collect donations on behalf of local children’s hospice, Francis House.
At Pixie, we always push ourselves to do more. We have set ourselves a target to introduce an Eco-Pixies club and we are using our technical knowledge to source fabrics and garments that assist children with special needs.

Pixie Cares about Clothes

At Pixie we work closely with suppliers such as Imps & Elfs and Mini A Ture to ensure the ethical sourcing of products and fair pricing. We pride ourselves on our honest and transparent purchasing policy. We would like to share more information with you, so we are looking at ways in which we can improve our labelling and packaging so you can be assured of the ethical sourcing and quality of each product.

Pixie Cares about The Environment

Pixie has also taken actions to protect the natural environment. We encourage energy and water conservation and where possible source sustainable products. We currently recycle our cardboard however we are aiming to recycle 100% of all our packaging, use recycled paper for all printed materials and introduce more 100% sustainable products to our range. We sell high-quality garments that should last for years, long after children have out-grown them. For this reason, we actively encourage people to pass on and recycle anything they have bought from Pixie. For treasured pieces that are too precious to ever give away: preserve them as an heirloom or keep them to bring a smile to your face at a later date.

Pixie Cares about Our People

Our people are incredibly important to us. We want to attract and retain the right team members so we try and make Pixie a really great place to be. We offer a safe and relaxed working environment, encourage everyone to throw their ideas into that hat, and promote professional growth. We’d like to do more work here though and formalise development plans for staff members, including supporting staff through paid volunteer work. We are also working on bringing to life our Pixie Values which we hope will differentiate us from the crowd.

Pixie Cares about You

Pixie is really proud to support the local community. We have recently co-founded a Social-Networking group called Inner Glo, specifically aimed at helping Mums to network and optimise their work/life balance.
We also make regular donations to local charities such as Francis House Children’s Hospice and The Genesis Appeal.
We have recently sourced a smart, ethically-produced uniform for a local school.
At Pixie we support enterprise and offer help and advise to local start-ups where possible. We also use local suppliers and actively encourage diversity. Examples of recently formed companies that Pixie has been happy to support are Toffee Moon and My Little Shopping Bag.
